Ogun State is one of the 36 states in Nigeria, located in the South-Western region of Nigeria, it is popularly referred to as the “Gateway State”. It was created on 3 February 1976 from the former Western State. It borders Lagos State to the South, Oyo and Osun states to the North, Ondo to the East and the Republic of Benin to the West.
Ogun state has the largest deposit of limestone in Nigeria, attracting many investments to the State because of its strategic closeness to Lagos State. The State has a total land area of about 16,400 Km2.
