Enugu state is among 36 states in Nigeria and called the “Coal City’’ because of its geopolitical significance to the discovery of coal in 1909 by a team of British geologists. It is in the Southeastern part of Nigeria and was created on 27 August 1991 by President Ibrahim Babangida. The capital of Enugu State is Enugu (top of the hill).
