The African Development Bank (AfDB) is abbreviated as AfDB which motto is Building today, a better Africa tomorrow founded on September 10, 1964. AfDB is to spur sustainable economic development and social progress in its Regional Member Countries (RMCs), thereby contributing to poverty reduction.
AfDB achieves the objectives by mobilizing and allocating resources for investment in RMCs; and providing policy advice and technical assistance to support development efforts.
The African Development Bank Group has two other entities: the African Development Fund (ADF) and the Nigeria Trust Fund (NTF).
According to their site, In 2015, all multilateral development institutions have agreed on the same set of objectives, called the Sustainable Development Goals.
They are currently based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. AfDB employs about 1,865 employees as of 2016 and has 80 members which 54 countries are in Africa and 26 are American, European, and Asian countries.
